Feral deer control

Feral deer graze pasture and crops, damage fences and trees, and are spreading across many parts of NSW.

The problem and the damage

  • Grazing pasture and crops that would otherwise feed your stock.
  • Damaged fences.
  • Stripping and rubbing young trees, vines and native plants.
  • Fouling dams and waterways.
  • Collisions with vehicles on roads and tracks.

Why act early

Feral deer numbers can grow and spread into new areas. Starting control while numbers are low is easier and cheaper than waiting.

Best time to act

Deer are often most active at dawn, dusk and night. Control can suit different times of year depending on your property, and we plan timing with you.

How we control them

Ground shooting by a Category D licensed shooter, day or night, using thermal imaging after dark.

All work follows the Code of Practice for the Humane Shooting of Pest Animals in NSW and NSW firearms laws. We never target native species.

Deer control is done in line with current NSW rules for the property.

Before we start

  • A site risk assessment covering boundaries, houses, roads, stock, neighbours and native wildlife areas.
  • A written agreement setting out what we will do, where and when, before any work starts.
  • Safe areas and times agreed with you. We ask you to tell us where stock and people will be.
  • No unauthorised people on site while we are working.
  • All equipment supplied. You do not need to provide anything.

How we work, step by step

Who it's for

  • Farms
  • Rural landholders
  • Councils
  • Golf courses
  • Schools
  • Industrial sites

Where a site is close to people, such as schools, golf courses or industrial sites, work is planned around safe times. If shooting is not suitable for a site, we will tell you honestly.

Neighbour programs

Feral animals do not stop at the fence. When neighbouring properties book together, we can plan one coordinated program across the boundary, which usually gives better results for everyone. Ask about group pricing.
